Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window

A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.

"The plane touched down following standard procedures and all passengers, among them Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer commented in a public statement.

Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the Belgian capital during the flight.

This occurrence isn't the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was required to head back to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
