Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention the player by name in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Reportedly Unavailable
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
