Palestinian-American Youth Freed Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American adolescent having endured nine months in Israel's custody without being charged was released.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.

The US state department applauded the teenager's freedom.

Mohammed, now 16, was taken to hospital for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

Family described him as pale, underweight, while battling health issues contracted in captivity.

Through an official statement, Mohammed's uncle expressed the family's "tremendous relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"Right now, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery following exposure to harsh conditions and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."

The state department stated they would maintain to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities has no higher priority to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," officials stated.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to the state department and the White House, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, with four children operating an ice cream shop from Florida, previously said his child admitted guilt to throwing stones due to physical abuse.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, learning information solely about his son's condition through judicial records.

The teenager remained lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.

The facility also contains grown detainees, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences including killings.

There are around several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.

Many have never been charged along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, say some have suffered physical abuse and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, the uncle stated they would maintain their efforts seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen according to health authorities succumbed to assault by settlement residents following tensions last July.

No charges have been filed for the cousin's murder.

"We demand the American government to ensure our family's safety," the uncle stated.
